Berkhamsted DJ nominated to carry Olympic torch during London 2012

A Berkhamsted DJ has been nominated to carry the Olympic torch during the London 2012 games. 

Fans of Tom Whybrow, known as DJ Tommo, have secured him a place on the Samsung shortlist by voting for him as their 'local hero'. 

More than 150 supporters have also joined a Facebook group titled DJ Tommo to carry the Olympic torch.

If successful, Tom, who DJs at The George on Saturday nights, could get the chance to carry the Olympic flame during its official 70-day relay across the UK next year. 

Nominations for Olympic torchbearers close on September 30.
