Plans for school expansion now being considered include a new first school being built or a complete reorganisation of the schools across the town.

The county council decided not to go ahead with expansion of Greenway and Westfield schools following a consultation.

Instead, the county council has two new options on the table. the first is to build a new first school next to Bridgewater School - this would be on Green Belt Land.

The second option would be to reorganise and expand the town's schools to create a mixture of infant, junior, primary and secondary schools.

The latter would see Ashlyns School become a secondary school, accepting pupils from the age of 11.

There will be a consultation on these options early in the New Year
