More than 90 children got to meet their cricketing hero when Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff paid a visit to a summer scheme at Berkhamsted School.

The budding batsmen and women were all attending the Andrew Flintoff Cricket Academy, in partnership with The Co-operative Food, last week when the man himself paid them a visit.

And one lucky lad got a chance to play against the cricketing legend when Freddie agreed to take on the winner of the 'Crazy Catchers' competition.

Freddie was welcomed to the school by 15-year-old Sam Gorski. He spent some time with the students on the field while they went through their paces, before a Q&A session where he was asked about his career, asked for coaching advice - and even asked which ground served the best cricket tea!

He finished with a signing session and a chance for everyone to get their photos taken.

"The kids were absolutely buzzing," said head coach Mark Potter said, following the 'fantastic' visit. "Freddie really is all about his passion for the game and having a love for the sport. Freddie always plays his game with a smile on his face."
