Berkhamsted Town Council is working on its plans for celebrating the Queen's Diamond Jubilee next year. Current suggestions include a fete, street party or fete. Dacorum Borough Council is contributing £3,000 to the event and the council has set up a working group to plan celebrations. The town council would like to hear from any local clubs or organisatons who would like to be involved.

I popped into the Town Council Transport and Environment Committee meeting last night to find out just how meetings appear to be so short and ask why we seem to have 4 organisations trying to improve the Canal and Riverside environment - all of which have Town and/or Borough Council involvement. It quickly became evident that getting involved was not an item on the agenda in any shape or form. Even though they had 7 days notice, it...

Been reading Town Council minutes. Lasted less than 30 minutes and only a member of the public asked a question - well Ted Dyer is a man after my own heart. Come on people, let's find out what they really do, shall we? By the way, I notice few meetings last over an hour (something unheard of in my sad democratic days).
