Body found in burning car

A body has been discovered in a burning car in Ringshall, near Little Gaddesden.

The discovery was made just before 6pm on Friday (26th June) in Beacon Road.

Investigations into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing and a post-mortem examination will take place this afternoon.

Detective Inspector Dominic Williamson, from Aylesbury CID, said: "There have been reports that a white van was in the area at the time of the incident.

"I would appeal for the driver of this vehicle to come forward, as they may have information which could assist the investigation."

The victim has not yet been identified, but the police have now reported that it was a woman's body in the car.

The woman who died has today been identified as Joy Hammond, from Pitstone. An inquest into her death has been opened and adjourned.

Thames Valley Police is not treating the death as suspicious, but would like to speak to anybody who saw the incident.
