Consultation deadline

Dacorum Policy is to provide traveller sites as part of major housing developments, not as stand-alone developments. At the present Berko doesn't have any traveller sites and is under pressure to have at least one. The only major housing development in Berko is the one planned for the old Egerton Rothesay school site, although I've not seen that specifically linked with travellers. I'm really amazed by the whole central government provision policy. Travellers are a recognised ethnic group, but no other ethinic group has special sites put aside for them and if anyone was to suggest that we should divide our towns into ethnic zones they would quickly be denounced as racist! Let's encourage travellers to settle in our towns and cities and integrate properly, not live as a parallel society in zoned areas. We have 'two-jags' Prescott to thank for the current policy which is causing so much grief.
