I agree that there should be an improvement on the bus timetable that's already in place.
My advice to you would be to write to Arriva expressing your views and, also, to get as many others as possible to do so also. Perhaps start a petition. I, for one, would be more than willing to sign it.
I've previously written to Arriva expressing my dissatisfaction with the 500/501 timetable - it's ridiculous that the last bus back from Aylesbury is at 5:45pm, yet the last one there (from Berkhamsted, at least) is 23:50..!!
For somewhere like Aylesbury that has so many more job opportunities than smaller towns (ie Berkhamsted), I was ever-so surprised to find out that the last bus back doesn't nearly correspond with the finishing time of most jobs in AY.
The problem is the funding. We are a minibus operator based in Chesham (optimumbus.com) and would love to provide local bus services to plug the gaps left by the large operators, but without a subsidy this type of service is a non-starter. Passenger fares wouldn't cover the wages, let alone diesel and other costs. Concessionary fares reimbursement is low too. Maybe you should speak with the County Council, but they are looking to save money, not spend more of it.
