didn't even know there was one - where exactly is it? In that La Gare place?

It's good. The gaffer Nigel seems brilliant. Top marks from me!

Yes! It's right in the station - as you're coming out just turn right and walk round the building. The fish and chips are great! I've been there twice already! We always said that no restaurant would work there because it's so noisy with the trains and nowhere to park and we were all saying that the only thing that would work is a takeaway! Brill! The staff were also great when it was busy, dealing with orders quickly and chatting with us as we waited for the fresh fish to be cooked!
The Fish and Chip shop is great! I particularly like the way they wrap the fish separately from the Chips, to avoid the batter getting soggy. The Chips are excellent dry and non greasy. They also have a little restaurant and inside there is a Railway station TV screen to keep an eye on the train times :) I'm just glad I don't catch the train every day otherwise i'd be in there everyday!

Top marks to the new chippy.
They are really nice in there & are a million times better than McCoys. I think McCoys oil always tastes nasty!!
Oh & also if you are coeliac (require gluten free diet) they will fry your chips seperately from the fryer which they cook the fish etc. Just got to give them a little time. Also i cant find there phone number anyone know it??
I found this number - give it a try! - Cannot definitely confirm , I'm afraid !

I'll add my vote of praise. The fish and chips from here are really great! You really shouldn't mention the old fish and chip shop in Berkhamsted in the same setting - there is no comparison!!
I think the honey moon period has passed.
I went Thursday night, the staff were miserable and they hardly had any food apart from chips.
Their chilli sauce didn't have any trace of chilli it was just red mint sauce.

Just bought a bag of chips (Monday lunctime) from the station chippie. Probably the WORST chips I've ever had - wouldn't even give them to the dog.
What they served up was so obviously left over from Saturday night and just warmed up - dry, dark brown on the outside, a strange yellow colour on the inside.
What a rip off for £2.40 a bag!!!!!
Suggest you make sure you see what they're serving up before you hand over your money....
@h34lthy - I hope you went and complained then, so they won't do it again if they want to keep their customers !
My experience has been the opposite, but then I tend to visit in the evening when patronage is higher. No complaints on quality or quantity from me !
