Tea or Coffee?

Odd that in the past 15 years coffee has become gentrified and yet we still drink tea made with all the rubbish dust left over from mechanical production?

Is it time we made an effort to drink better tea?

Speak for yourself. If you use tea bags, what do you expect. Just like Woodbines!

    Agreed.

I am bringing fine leaf and flower tea to Berkhamsted and started this post to gauge opinion.

Hope to find others out there who share your view!

Where can you buy 'real' tea in Berkhamsted? I don't drink coffee, and it annoys me that I have to pay over the odds for a teabag dunked in hot water if I meet friends in Costa. There aren't nearly enough cafes and restaurants serving loose-leaf tea these days - the one exception I've found being Home and Colonial.

    Hi Amanda

I hear your frustration, it is the same everywhere.

At present I am only selling loose leaf tea at the Saturday market. Feel free to pop down for a free taster. The cafe at Home & Colonial is nice enough but I promise you my teas knock spots off theirs!

Next year I will open a cafe and then you can demand your friends meet there!

You've won me over already! I will look out for your stall at the market next time I pop down. Hope you do open a cafe - a good old-fashioned tea shop would be lovely here!

    Hi Marc

I have a terrific 1st flush. It comes from the Soom Tea Garden. The leaves and tips have a green hue and this delivers a delicious profile. I am at the market this Saturday. Pop along and I will let you have a sample. It is £7.50 per 50g
