What are the best real ale pubs around Berkhamsted? I'm not a real ale drinker myself so despite living here for years I don't have a clue! But have some friends coming to stay and would like to find a good one to take them to. Any suggestions?

I'm told by a CAMRA member i work with that the Rising Sun is the best, & they do good food too.
I've never been there myself, so don't hold me to this one...

The Rising Sun is the best one in Berko by miles. Pick a nice day and it's bliss by the canal.

The Rising Sun is a great pub, especially in the sunshine on the Canal. They do serve a good pint, but to be fair, I would say their strength is in Cider, not Ale. They have an astonishing array of ciders.
My choice for a real Ale pub in Berko is the Lamb, it happens to also be my local, which is nice for me, but it serves a great pint of ale.
