Many will remember a similar idea in the 90's.
No? I thought not. Lasted a few months though.

From the promotion for this website I was expecting regular broadcasts of some kind. From what I've seen it's actually just a collection of videos - so perhaps DeeTube would be a better name than DeeTV! Still, looking forward to seeing how it develops over the coming weeks and months.

    OK
    So what is this BCA?
Why there is so little info on internet about it?
    Is there any official webpage?
Most of what I found about it ware out dated information and advice that if I am not a member I should not be interested anyway.

@PCMRG - you are reading a re-directed (and unauthorised) web-site. A new and updated BCA web-site will be released shortly. You really shouldn't believe everything your read on the internet !

PCMRG - they did have an unofficial web-site, but had a change of policy (not that the one that existed was actually 'authorised' by anyone contrary to what crozzie may imply.
A citizens association member did register a domain name and charged the association for it but I believe it then just didn't happen. Another member picked up the baton, registered a domain name and developed it under their own ideas and finance. The association then decided that non-members could not have anything to do with either editing the newsletter or maintaining the web-site and as this person was no longer a member it all just stopped.
Nuffin to do with me, guv!

Unfortunately I missed the DeeTV presentation due to work. Crozzie or anyone else who attended, could you give me a brief summary of what was said?

Amanda - I might be able to help you here.

i - pay £5 to the citizens Association to join them and it might be mentioned in their next newsletter.
ii - Give me £10 and I'll tell you what I expect happened.
iii- give me £20 and I'll tell you what should have happened.

For free - the daughter of a PR lady couldn't get a job, so the family decided to obtain grants after drawing up a viable business plan and start a 'TV' channel that actually isn't available on a TV set we all know and love (via that metal thing on the roof).
Don't worry though, the government says it's the way that all TV will be broadcast one day, so that radio frequencies can be sold off to mobile telephone companies so that you can watch pictures as you cruise along the canal on your way to see the 2022 Olympics.

Just joking everyone - the men in whites coats are already knocking on the door.

@Amanda: in answer to your question - not much more than what is currently on the website, which is a collection of films 'celebrating' what is available in Dacorum, for those who care to look. These are indeed only available on line via the deetv.tv website and not via your tv, but who knows, one day....! The idea is in future to take allow schools and other community groups etc. to make their own films and upload them to the site as a permanent marker.

You'll be pleased to hear that OFCOM have identified that channel 42 will be available for local TV broadcasts from Bedmond.
The good news is that it will cover bits of St Albans and the southern/centre of Berkhamsted will struggle - if the prediction is correct and past predictive results suggest that will not be the case. For example, we are supposed to receive TV from Sandy Heath. Believe me, that site leaves a lot to be desired even a lot nearer to the mast than we are.

A number of people have been asking what DeeTV is all about! Firstly do come and look http://tinyurl.com/3p3x9ra .... Here at deetv we want to communicate the joy of giving to the community and highlight an interest in all those people and organizations that do. We hope to offer pathways to enable those that need help to find them, whether it be from a charity, local authority, self help group or business. We want to engender a feel good atmosphere about where we all live and a greater sense of community and well being. There are films about people who "do" where we live - the arts, and the things we care about, hopefully catering for all ages. Currently we are only a month old, so we are not there yet. Tell us what you want to see. We have just arranged that our MP will do a surgery on camera and then residents can send in questions for future surgeries. We are totally open to ideas of what you would like to see - so let us know. There is an email address on the web site. We look forward to welcoming you on board. - Lindy - Mischke - Ali.
