With September just around the corner (and the autumnal weather to match), Berkhamsted's shops are fully stocked for the new school term. Here's our guide to what to buy and where to buy it, without leaving the High Street.

Stock up for the new school term in Berkhamsted
Uniform
Cut-price deals on uniforms (and just about everything else) can be found upstairs in Tesco Metro.
But if your children are at Berkhamsted School, there's no need to venture out into the rain to kit them out - the uniform is now available on the internet. The online shop offers free delivery on orders over £45 and will even sew nametapes into the clothes for you.
Unfortunately, the 'closing down sale' posters in the windows of Birtchnells - which for years was the school's official outfitter - suggest this convenience comes at a cost to the High Street.
Greenway School and Bridgewater School are also selling everything from polo shirts to plimsolls at low prices online, but for plain items, check out M&Co and Tesco to be sure of getting the best deal.
Pens, Paper and Pencilcases
WH Smith is the best place to stock up on essential stationery, with loads of deals and offers on pens, pencils, paper, notepads and much more. As usual, they have brought in a range of fun and colourful classroom goodies in honour of the new school year.
But for something a little bit different, head down the road to Temptation. You won't find lined paper or basic ringbinders over here, but you will find cool and unusual pencilcases and other accessories that will be the envy of the classroom.
Waterstone's also has an excellent array of snazzy notebooks and diaries.
Books
For set texts, revision guides and other study aids, try WH Smith and Waterstone's, which both have an impressive range for all age groups and plenty of offers to keep the cost down.
