Is Tesco in Berkhamsted really that bad?

A Berkhamsted shopper has reviewed the town's Tesco Metro for a customer service website.
-
What do you think of Tesco Metro in Berkhamsted?
The writer accuses the shop's staff of 'failing to understand the basics of customer service' and complains about product ranges being tailored towards single people rather than families and the bakery being poorly stocked.
They write: 'It shouldn’t be rocket science to get bread on shelves so that we can buy it, contribute towards their profits and make shareholders very rich.'
They also argue that the Metro type of store is better suited to cities than a town like Berkhamsted.
What do you think? Do you use Tesco Metro, and do you agree with these complaints?

Although I agree that there are some negatives to Berkhamsted Tesco I have a totally different view about the checkout staff. I find them friendly, helpful, honest and effective. They always have a friendly word and offer to help pack, a smile is always forthcoming even when very busy and they are on the whole speedy and efficient. I once left my purse at the checkout with a large sum of money in it, I was unwell and did not notice for a few days that I had mislaid it, the checkout assistant had handed it in and it was kept safe, she refused a reward for her honesty and was actually shocked that honesty was not to be taken for granted.
I wonder if staff perhaps treat people as they are treated?!
In comparison, if I shop at the other supermarket in the town I find it a soul destroying experience with checkout operators mumbling formulaic greetings which they have been taught to say, whilst yawning and not even thinking about what they are saying.
In summary, I find Berkhamsted Tesco staff friendly, helpful, natural and speedy, all that I want from a checkout operator. I can do without false charm and company designed monologues at the checkout.!

ReportI live in Berkhamsted, but will travel to Hemel or Watford to shop at Tesco. The staff at Berkhamsted are not so much rude, as disinterested and they never ever give you the green clubcard points! It is freezing cold (which is a huge waste of resources and money to tesco) The store is often poorly cleaned and once I was asked to by no less than 3 members of staff (who approached me together and with much noise and fuss) to use a tesco trolley in the store as placing items I wished to buy in my own open top shopping basket while still in the store was considered stealing by the management - something I had done often, always then going to the checkout and paying for the items. I was so affronted, that I put the items back on the shelf and left without purchasing anything and have not been back. I was clearly the worst thief as I was using a basket (from which you could clearly see everything that was in it). I wrote to the store but never recieved a response or an appology.

ReportThe problem is not Tesco as such but the one in Berkhamsted (Jamesbcroft, I live in Berko and cannot afford Waitrose. I am not a snob and I don't look down on anyone).
The staff are undertained, rude to the point of being abusive. Products are not priced correctly, stock levels are a disgrace, it's freezing cold in there.
Their reduced shelf is a fridge unit and they put Olive Oil so it turs cloudy and bread so that the packaging fills with moisture.
It's shoddy, badly managed and maintained and a disgrace. And no, I don't go their any longer I pop into the Adsa store near where I work at linchtime.
