Excellent food/service

Went there for Sunday lunch last weekend - it was quiet, but the food was fantastic. Can only guess that the previous reviewer was extremely unlucky. Service was friendly and the Sunday roast was amongst the best I've ever had from a pub/restaurant - the vegetable board was a thing of wonder. Also been there a few times on days off and sat in the cozy bar area for a few relaxing drinks in the nice atmosphere.

    Lunch last wednesday, was awful Food mediocre and tasteless and overpriced.Service incredibly slow, despite not very many people there. We complained to waitress and about the odd sized food portions, she actually said 'the chef isn't very good, he's only been here 2 days' My wife and I chose the same desert, but my portion was 3 times bigger.Very odd. Our other friends commented that there food was cold. Waitress again not very sympathetic. Won't revisit.

    A great cosy pub on the high street! There is always a good atmoshphere in here and the bar staff are very friendly.
