  Herts CC has issued proposals for reducing night-time street lighting in Berkhamsted, which would apply from midnight to 6 a.m., starting in February. Across the county, 75% of street lights are being switched off between these times.   The High Street (and extensions at either end e.g. London Road) retains all lighting, all night.    Kings Road, Lower Kings Road, Bridgewater Road and some 'major side roads'...

  A badger looked as though it had been hit by a car this morning (overnight?). It was on the green looking very sorry for itself and a resident told me that tiddywinkles in Aylesbury had been called. Anyone in the area able to enlighten me on the outcome. It was only a little one, so most probably a youngster.

  Waitrose in Berkhamsted has extended its opening hours. The store will now open at 7.30am every week day and close at 9pm every week night - adding two hours of shopping time. Its Saturday opening hours have also been extended by two hours, with the shop opening at 7.30am and closing at 8pm. Sunday hours of trading remain the same at 10am to 4pm.
