Bring it, Swap it, Use it! - The Sunday Exchange
By INLUMINO | Thursday, July 09, 2009, 00:37
Got anything that you dont want to throw away because it seems that it has some sort of monetary value.
Maybe you have a fruit tree that means that you can only enjoy one kind of fruit.
Maybe you make amazing jam but your bread seems unleavened.
Able to knit but sick of tasteless food, then get knitting and earn yourself the right to some excellent local foods.
Parents sick of being bugged by the kids for new toys and games, then bring them to the swap shop where they can swap their un-used toys, giving them a new lease of life, for "new" toy.
Don't have anything to offer then why not make jugs of PIMS and see what you can get for a generous cup as you bring joy to those around you.
Three Sundays This Summer.
12th July, 9th August and 13th September 2009, 11:30 - 14:00
Friends Meeting House, 289 High Street, Berkhamsted, HP4 1AJ
Spend a relaxing few hours sampling some local food, listening to music and swapping stuff.
EVEN
Get your bike fixed at the bike fix stand and exchange ideas with other like minded folk!

I think the most interesting part of this event is that it's aiming to bring us back to the bartering days, before money was invented and complicated matters. If these events get more promotion and grow in scale, perhaps we'll one day have an opportunity to reform capitalism.
