Counterfeit goods have been seized from Bovingdon Market in what is believed to be the biggest raid of its kind in Hertfordshire.

A seizure of counterfeit goods from Bovingdon Market is thought to be Hertfordshire's biggest
Clothes, shoes and CDs were taken from 11 stalls on Saturday in a joint operation by officers from the county's trading standards unit and police force.
The fake brands being offered to shoppers included Nike, Adidas, D&G, DKNY, Ed Hardy, True Religion, Ugg, Armani, Gucci, Dior, Levis, Moschino, and Prada, but the street value of the haul has not yet been calculated.
Keith Emsall, executive member for community safety and culture at Hertfordshire County Council, said: "Not only do consumers get ripped off, it also hurts legitimate local businesses - many of whom are already struggling in the current economic climate.
"It's extremely disappointing that Bovingdon Market continues to be a source of illegal goods.
"We will continue to work with our partners to tackle the problems at the market."
Bovingdon Market opens on Saturdays and Bank Holidays and offers more than 400 stalls, from fashion to food.

I will allow myself to disagree.
What do you rather call ripping off customers.
1. Selling Gucci bag in the shop for £1500
2. Selling fake Gucci bag in Bovingdon Market for £15
Keeping in mind that:
Both of the bags ware manufactured in the same factory somewhere around the world by children that ware paid £0.10?
I am not a fan of stilling intellectual property at all!
I would rather buy a T-shirt with no name on it instead of Armani or adidas but you can not find them anywhere.
I am a regular user of Bovingdon Market for last 4 years and I was there last Saturday week after ride and I did not spot the difference so if we are serious about stopping people to sale or buy sale of fake goods police should be there every week but it is not.
I know that the bags there are fake and some of them look fake.
I was with my wife in Westfield and they let us in into one of the shop there well I just asked myself what my wife have to do to make people believe that this bag is real deal? Maybe stick invoice on the chain will help. Of course I did not buy my wife £1500 bag but only because she did not like it.
I do not buy a fake goods, I do not like but still I am at the Bovingdon Market every week just to check shop outlet and returns stands for some good deals like brand new working karscher with broken cover for £5. How about you? Are you visiting Bovingdon market? I am actually very surprised that anyone from Berkhamsted does? What are you looking for?
It is always funny to meet your neighbour there and see his bit ashamed face.
