D-DAY FOR COMPANIES IN BERKHAMSTED
By hosf123 | Monday, July 06, 2009, 12:09
People from companies, groups and organisations across Berkhamsted are being asked to collect together their good quality unwanted items in a D-DAY extravaganza to raise money for the Hospice of St Francis.
After retail guru Mary Portas highlighted the plight that charity shops face on her recent TV programme, the Hospice of St Francis have decided to ask people across businesses and organisations in Hertfordshire, Beds and Bucks to donate just one good quality piece of clothing/shoes/accessories which they may have in their wardrobe or an item from home in a special Donate Don't Dump D - day appeal.
You can hold your D-Day any time and in any place - perhaps in the staff canteen, at a coffee break or lunch hour or down the pub with friends after work?
Simply let everyone know when D-Day is, then set up a collection point and wait for people to bring in that magic item they may never have worn, never wanted or been meaning to throw out - it means money for the Hospice of St Francis and helps us provide care for very ill people when they need it most.
It's such a simple thing to do - just needs someone with a big personality to tell everyone to bring their stuff in, a few BIG bin bags and a spare half hour! Just let us know when you've collected your goodies, send us your pictures and we'll do the rest!
If you can give us a plug for D Day for the Hospice of St Francis, or know any organisations who could help us, please do get in touch, on 01442 869555.
