Sledges have been banned from Waterstone's on Berkhamsted High Street
The shop's managers have branded the toys a "health and safety risk" due to the "large volume of water they bring into the store".
A "no sledges" policy is now being enforced.
An area at the entrance to the shop has been designated as a sledge park so customers can store their sledges while they shop.
Comments
I would usually say this was health and safety gone mad - but having nearly tripped over hundreds of the things recently, it actually seems quite sensible. It's hard enough to stay upright on the snow as it is without everyone dragging their sledges down the High Street.

ReportThere's not much of a slope in there anyway, to be honest.
