At last night's Hustings

At Hustings this evening only 2 hours for all questions and answers to the local candidates. No time for questions on education or environment. However - good news: Christopher Townsend (LibDem) who I spoke to after the meeting and James Hannaway (Independent - of Rex fame) oppose 2-tier car park in Berkhamsted railway station! David Gauke... says it is not needed yet ... We hope that with all this support and continued support of Berkhamsted residents that attractive transport alternatives into and around Berkhamsted will be found e.g. dedicated cycle lanes - amongst others getting children and parents onto safe bike paths. Regular, efficient and attractively priced commuter shuttle buses to serve all local residents esp. linked to train timetables so cars can be left at home. Our local bus company is interested in providing this service - would you use it? If yes which road do you want served, are there neighbours who would also use it at the same time as you - please pass on this idea and let's do something about it. Contact via Facebook: look up Berkhamsted - WE SAY NO TO PROPOSED 2-TIER RAILWAY STATION CAR PARK - BERKHAMSTED and lets keep our community a uniquely attractive place to come visit or return to by train. If you are a commuter please get in touch with us to help you find a better way to travel into Berkhamsted or the railway - saving you money and possibly make you fitter. Two good things to think about - please act now. Thank you.
