Berkhamsted FC's new crest revealed

Berkhamsted Football Club has unveiled its new crest.
The club, which was formed earlier this year, has revealed a badge designed to represent the new team's philosophy of co-operation and community.
The crest (pictured) depicts two hands joined together, and incorporates the town's traditional colours of blue and gold.
The badge was designed by an anonymous benefactor who decided to help the club after reading about its launch on the internet.
The club, nicknamed The Comrades, has relied on support from local individuals and businesses to get its players onto the pitch.
The designer said: "It seems as if the club is really trying to represent Berkhamsted as a town and all its residents and groups. I didn't think there was much chance of getting a game, but wanted to help out as much as I could.
"Hopefully, the deign will help inspire the players to win a few games for Berko next year."
Ben
Terry, chairman of Berkhamsted FC, added: "We're really pleased with
the new design, which we feel really represents the Comrades' ethos.
Yet again, we have been helped out by someone wanting to donate their
skills to the club and are continually grateful to the designer and
everyone else who has contributed to getting the Comrades on our feet.
"We conidered
a number of designs, some modern, some traditional, but felt that the
two hands shaking really represented how we want the club to function.
In combination with the historic colours
of our wonderful town we think the crest can really act as a visual
rallying point for those involved on and off the pitch in the
forthcoming sessions."
Berkhamsted FC is currently looking for new players to join the team.

ReportI really like this crest too actually. It looks clean and simple and quite classic. I think the hands shaking is a nice symbol as well - though unfortunately that kind of civility has never been my experience of football...!

ReportVery nice, though isn't it a little similar to the Nokia one. mm... i'm not sure.
Anyway; great simple design!

ReportGlad you like it! We went pretty traditional in the end but I think if gives it a kind of timeless quality! Hopefully we'll start seeing the logo up around the town soon.
Recruitment is going well. Around 30 people turned up for the first training session. I know Mickey and the team are still looking for talent though so if you're interested, head to Kitchener's Field on Tuesdays or Thursdays. I think it starts around 6:45.
