Boarding buses made easier

I'm afraid I've been out again to the great metropolis.
You all will recall the problems that Arriva had with their buses that 'dipped' at the front to make it easier for the disabled and others to gain access (don't you?).
Naturally, Hemel has the answer. They are raising the kerbs by bus stops to reduce the distance that you have to climb to get in a bus.
Two questions:
- Why Hemel?
- Why not railway platforms?

"if so as all buses have numerous CCTV cameras on them all that is needed is the bus company to submit the details of the offending vehicle to the police to then issue a ticket". You are confusing a bus company with Google Street View. Buses take people from A to B - Google Street View have cameras in their vehicles and take pictures along roads. If all buses had CCTV - not all do - they could have a field day at Moor End Road in Hemel, where cars use the bus lane all day every day, and the police um... do nothing ! Ralph - why haven't you taken photos of the bus parked on the bend ? Yep, that's right, because you know that nothing will be done....

ReportParking on the public highway is illegal apart from in marked parking bays. That law is never enforced, why should a little area by a bus stop or school be any different? Remember the motor vehicle is king - even horses have to go along the footway so they don't upset motorists - then upset walkers by leaving large mounds on the footway that they don't clear up.

Reportisnt obstructing a bus stop illegal? if so as all buses have numerous CCTV cameras on them all that is needed is the bus company to submit the details of the offending vehicle to the police to then issue a ticket.
when a bus is stopped for the best part of 10 minutes on the inside of a bend it makes passing it safely almost impossible.
The kerbs could be raised along the edge of the stop and hence make everyones life better.

Report"to act as a nice road block". I suspect you'll find the reason is so that people with restricted mobility can actually get on the bus from a raised kerb, rather than from the road, because thoughtlessly parked vehicles are obstructing the bus stop, preventing the bus from stopping adjacent the kerb.
