Route 62 changed again?

I saw a 62 bus going up Three Close Lane earlier this week.
Have they re-routed it back from the tortuous route round Swing Gate Lane/Woodland and Beech Drive?

It was diverted because the vehicles coming down Three Close Close wouldn't let the bus go up and vice-versa - a classic case of 'traffic calming' getting in the way of the real world. Same happens at the top of Ravens Lane and will happen in New Road when a similar scheme introduced. Wait until that is deemed the answer to Holiday Street, Station Road, George Street etc. The one-way idea was rejected about 10 years ago and the actual stopping of vehicles obstructing the highway would cost votes. I did think it would be better to allow the footway to be used for parking of vehicles and allow pedestrians to have right of way on the highway - but that has already happened!!

ReportNope, official route is still via Beech Drive, Woodlands Ave. and the High Street. Not sure why it was diverted in first place - even with parked cars, 3 Close Lane is still wider than Beech Drive with parked cars !
Possibly driver has encountered a problem around Beech Drive on journey TO Northchurch so decided to go the direct way on the return trip. Or a driver who hasn't done the 62 route for a while....
