Trains to and from London Euston were delayed this afternoon after a vehicle hit a railway bridge in Berkhamsted.

Speed restrictions were put in place on the line at around midday while the damage caused by the accident was assessed.

But the bridge was judged to be safe and a normal service has resumed in time for the Friday night rush hour.
